TASS reported on November 7 that Russian air‑defence forces shot down 903 Ukrainian fixed‑wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), four long‑range guided Neptune missiles and other weapons over a 24‑hour period. The state‑controlled outlet quoted the Defence Ministry’s statement that the air‑defence systems also intercepted two guided aerial bombs.
The Ministry’s bulletin listed 903 drones among the 674 aircraft and 284 helicopters that it said had been destroyed by Russian forces since the start of the special military operation. The same report noted massive losses of Ukrainian ground equipment, including 281,946 UAVs, 672 surface‑to‑air missile systems, 31,558 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,795 multiple‑launch rocket system (MLRS) combat vehicles, 36,876 field artillery guns and mortars, and 76,559 special military vehicles.
The statement added that Russian troops had also destroyed a Ukrainian radar station and claimed that Russian battlegroups had struck ammunition depots, storage facilities and production sites for ground‑based robotic systems and UAVs, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian soldiers and foreign mercenaries.
In the same communiqué, the Defence Ministry reported Ukrainian casualties within the special military operation zone. According to the ministry, 1,155 Ukrainian soldiers were lost over the past day. The breakdown by battlegroup was presented as follows: north > 150 troops, west > 220, south > 200, centre > 345, east > 205, and Dnepr > 35.
A quotation from the Ministry’s release was included by TASS: “Air defense systems shot down two guided aerial bombs, four long‑range guided Neptune missiles and 903 fixed‑wing unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry said.
TASS did not provide independent verification of the figures cited by the Russian Defence Ministry or offer commentary from Ukrainian officials. The outlet’s coverage focuses on the stated operational successes claimed by Russian forces, while noting the corresponding losses of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in a concise summary of the day’s combat activity.
