In brief

Two Wildberries warehouses in the St Petersburg and Tver regions, and a site near Moscow, were hit by Ukrainian drones overnight, killing at least five people and injuring 10 in the Moscow suburb. Samara’s Wildberries site was destroyed, wiping out stored goods. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reports civilian casualties in other Russian strikes. Russia’s defence ministry reports intercepting 320 drones, while separate Russian condemnations cite loss of civilian life. Both sides deny deliberate targeting of civilians, framing the attacks as military operations aimed at logistics hubs.

Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, hit two facilities overnight in the St Petersburg and Tver regions and a site near Moscow. The attacks caused a fire and damaged infrastructure, according to Russian officials.

At the Moscow‑suburban industrial site in Chekhov, local authorities reported five people killed and 10 injured, with the governor noting that most injuries are moderate. The site’s air substation and administrative building were also damaged.

In Samara, a Wildberries warehouse was destroyed along with all stored goods. The destruction was confirmed by the state news agency Tass and the store’s local listing on Yandex.

Ukrainian officials claim that the warehouses serve as logistics centers for the Russian military, a view Moscow denies. Russia’s defence ministry said it intercepted and destroyed 320 drones in the same period.

Meanwhile, Russian attacks on Ukraine inflicted casualties in Mykolaiv, Sumy, Bilhorod‑Dnistrovskyi, and Dnipro, with an 89‑year‑old woman and two children killed in Mykolaiv. A separate drone crash on a beach in Krasnodar’s resort region also killed seven and injured 58.

Both sides argue that civilians were not targeted deliberately, and each side maintains that the strikes are directed at military or strategic infrastructure. The situation remains volatile as attacks continue on both fronts.
