US Singer D4vd Arrested in Connection with Death of Missing Teen Girl
US singer D4vd has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl who went missing last year, according to police reports. The TikTok star, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, was the subject of a grand jury investigation stemming from the discovery of Celeste Rivas Hernandez's remains in his Tesla.
The Los Angeles Police Department announced on Thursday that the 21-year-old is being held without bail. The case is set to be presented to the District Attorney's office on Monday. D4vd has remained largely silent throughout the investigation, although his representatives stated he was cooperating with authorities.
The arrest comes after the remains of 14-year-old Rivas Hernandez were discovered on September 8, 2025, following complaints of a foul odor from the vehicle. Her decomposed body was found in a cadaver bag in the boot of the Tesla, which is registered to D4vd's address in Texas.
The medical examiner's office has indicated that Rivas Hernandez's body was in advanced stages of decomposition, and no cause of death has yet been announced. Police had classified the investigation as a death inquiry, with reports suggesting that she may have been dead for several weeks prior to the discovery.
Rivas Hernandez, a resident of Lake Elsinore, had been reported missing by her family in April 2024. Neighbors recognized her as a familiar face who regularly visited a local store. The details surrounding her macabre death have captivated public attention, fueling speculation about her connection to the singer.
D4vd's arrest marks a significant development in a case that has drawn both media scrutiny and public fascination. In December, a grand jury began hearing evidence regarding the case, leading to D4vd being identified as a key subject in the investigation. Following the discovery of Rivas Hernandez's body, D4vd's career took a downward turn, with canceled tours and severed ties from marketing collaborations.
Police previously raided the Hollywood Hills residence where D4vd resided, located near where the Tesla was found. The artist's family faced summons to testify as part of the inquiry, bringing to light additional materials that had not been public before.
The courtroom drama continues, as public interest heightens with each new revelation regarding the case. Family and friends of Rivas Hernandez, along with concerned community members, await further developments as the investigation unfolds.
